Everything you wanted to know about parking on our campus but were afraid to ask.
1. Where do I put the decal?
Student parking decals are placed on the windshield driver’s side lower corner. Faculty, staff, temporary, medical and service permits are hung from the rear view mirror with the lot designation facing outward.
2. When does my card have to be returned for a refund?
If you paid a card deposit, refunds are given up to 14 days after permits expire. After that you forfeit your deposit.
3. What do I do if I need to drop something off in a building?
We provide 15 minute parking in service spaces. Vehicles will be timed and if found parked longer than 15 minutes they are subject to ticketing and/or towing at owner’s expense.
4. When are the meters free?
Parking meters on campus are enforced 24 hours a day seven days a week.
5. Can I park overnight in the parking lots?
No overnight parking from 3:00 - 6:00 am, unless by permission of Parking Services. Students living in residence have overnight parking in their designated lots.
6. What happens if I park in disabled designated parking space?
You will be ticketed and towed if you are not displaying your Ministry of Ontario Disabled permit together with a UW Parking Services permit.
7. What do I do if I owe parking fines?
Pay on line, by mail or in person.
Persons parked illegally with outstanding citations will be towed at owner’s expense.
8. Is there short term parking in fire routes?
No parking/stopping is permitted in fire routes at any time. Any roadway/laneway is considered a fire route whether signed or not.
9. Where do I purchase a visitors parking pass when visiting the University residences?
Pay and display machines are available in lot S for village visitors, CLV-S for CLV visitors, and near Wilmot for UWP visitors.
